This week, we received official approval to operate our hydrogen refuelling station from the Zollernalbkreis district office and the ZÜS (Zugelassene Überwachungsstelle). This opens up new possibilities for us: we can now refuel hydrogen-powered vehicles without having to travel long distances to the nearest hydrogen refuelling station.

Refuelling our Hyundai Nexo is similar to conventional refuelling processes, but with hydrogen. The hydrogen is converted into electricity in the vehicle by a fuel cell, which then drives the electric motor. This process makes it possible to reduce the weight of a large battery, as the hydrogen serves as an energy store. In this way, we at Mehrer Compression can drive into a sustainable future with green energy.

As a next step, we are planning to install our own PV system and an electrolyser on our company premises in order to produce hydrogen ourselves and further increase our independence.
