Questions about apprenticeships and dual studies at Mehrer
Here you'll find answers to frequently asked questions about apprenticeships, dual study programs, and the application process at Mehrer. This will give you a quick overview of your entry-level opportunities and the application process.
How do I apply for an apprenticeship or a dual study program at Mehrer?
Simply send us your resume and your last two school reports as PDFs via email to job@mehrer.de. A cover letter is optional, but it helps us learn more about your motivation and interests.
After receiving your application, we will carefully review your documents and get back to you promptly with feedback.
If everything looks good, we will invite you to a personal interview. For technical apprenticeships, this interview may also include some small technical tasks.
For dual study programs, we also offer taster days. This allows you to gain insight into both your studies and practical experience at Mehrer.
What qualifications do I need for an apprenticeship or a dual study program?
For an apprenticeship at Mehrer, a secondary school leaving certificate (Mittlere Reife) is generally a good foundation. Even with a very good lower secondary school leaving certificate (Hauptschulabschluss), you can successfully start with us.
For a dual study program, you need a university entrance qualification (Abitur) or a subject-specific university entrance qualification (Fachhochschulreife) with a passed Delta exam from the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW).
More important to us than perfect grades are motivation, a willingness to learn, and an interest in the respective profession.
What is the apprenticeship process like at Mehrer?
Your apprenticeship begins with an introductory week, during which you'll get to know the company, your fellow apprentices, and key contacts.
Afterward, you'll rotate through various departments relevant to your chosen apprenticeship. There, you'll actively participate and learn the most important tasks step by step.
Vocational school complements your practical training at the company and provides you with the theoretical foundations.
How does the dual study program at Mehrer work?
In the dual study program, theory phases at the university and practical phases at Mehrer alternate.
During your practical phases, you will work in various departments, gain practical experience, and take on your own tasks and project work that connects your studies with practical application.
This way, you learn to take on responsibility early on and apply your knowledge directly in everyday work.
What are the working hours during the apprenticeship?
During your apprenticeship, you will work 35 hours per week on a flexitime basis.
This means that, depending on the department, you will have flexible working hours and can partially organize your workday yourself. Overtime can later be compensated with time off.
Is there support available for exam preparation?
Yes. We actively support you in your exam preparation.
This includes internal training and targeted preparation for practical and theoretical exams. You will also receive support with presentations and project work so that you are as well-prepared as possible for your final exam.
How high is the remuneration during the apprenticeship or dual study program?
At Mehrer, you'll receive attractive compensation that increases with each year of your apprenticeship or studies.
Compensation during apprenticeships:
1st year: approx. €1,000
2nd year: approx. €1,100
3rd year: approx. €1,200
