What awaits You in the dual study program
The Mechanical Engineering Degree program with a focus on Design and Development is all about the development of technical products – from the initial idea to the finished solution. During Your Dual Study Program, You will focus on topics such as:
- Product development and design
- Product life cycles and their optimization
- Cost and requirements management in production
- Specific product characteristics and technical requirements
During Your first practical phase, You will learn about the key technical areas at Mehrer:
- You will already acquire important basic skills in the training workshop by learning how to use tools, machines, and metalworking processes safely
- In development and design, You will have the opportunity to actively participate in real product ideas for the Mehrer company and experience how modern machine components are created
- During Your time in project engineering, You will take on responsibility by accompanying technical projects from initial planning to final implementation
- In production, You will experience first-hand how manufacturing processes work, how products are manufactured, and how different areas of mechanical engineering work together
Starting in the second semester, You will take on your own projects and actively participate in various departments—always with the goal of developing innovative products and improving technical processes at Mehrer.

Note: You can also start a Dual Study Program with a university of applied sciences entrance qualification if You successfully pass the Delta exam.
