Mehrer focusses on state-of-the-art mobility: New hydrogen company vehicle
On 14 April 2020, Mehrer Compression GmbH once again demonstrated its pioneering role in the region: With its new company vehicle, a Hyundai Nexo, the company is focussing on the pioneering use of hydrogen as an energy source. This commitment once again underlines the southern German company's conviction in fuel cell technology and strengthens its focus on the manufacture of machines and systems for the energy industry.
Managing Director Jörg-Peter Mehrer decided to order the Hyundai Nexo from Auto-Team Balingen/Albstadt back in early 2019. ‘In our company, we are fully committed to pioneering technologies with hydrogen and have already been producing high-pressure compressors for H2 compression for several years,’ explains Jörg-Peter Mehrer. ‘Our customers include state-of-the-art energy companies, research institutions and hydrogen refuelling stations worldwide. It was therefore a personal concern of mine to make our commitment to the energy carrier of the future visible to the outside world.’
The Auto-Team Balingen/Albstadt was also very enthusiastic. ‘The order from Mehrer Compression was our first order in this new market segment. The Hyundai Nexo combines state-of-the-art fuel cell technology with maximum driving comfort and an impressive efficiency of 60 per cent, which puts it in a leading position in the H2 vehicle sector,’ says Thorsten Spörl from Auto-Team.
Thanks to the H2 Mobility Initiative, the expansion of the hydrogen refuelling station network is also progressing steadily in Baden-Württemberg. Mehrer is looking forward to the completely emission-free driving experience with the new Hyundai Nexo and hopes that fuel cell technology will soon be increasingly used by other companies and private individuals.
