Service Technician

As a service technician – comparable to a service engineer or customer service technician in technical service – you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and commissioning of our piston and diaphragm compressors as well as complete compressor systems. You will analyse mechanical and electrical faults, carry out systematic fault diagnostics and ensure the long-term operational reliability of our systems.

Mehrer develops and manufactures industrial compressors for applications in industry and energy technology in Balingen. As part of your field service assignments, you will support commissioning, carry out functional tests and advise our customers on technical issues directly on site.

Your responsibilities as a service
technician (m/f/d)

  • You carry out maintenance, servicing, and repairs on compressors, aggregates, and systems worldwide
  • You assist with system commissioning, resolve malfunctions, and handle technical inquiries with strong technical know-how
  • Comprehensive and traceable documentation, including detailed commissioning logs, is an essential part of your responsibilities
  • Error and fault analyses of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components are part of your daily routine
  • You inspire customers with professional instructions, conduct comprehensive tests on the systems, and ensure precise fine-tuning on site
  • You carry out modifications to mechanical and electrical components safely and in full compliance with regulations

Your Profile

  • You have completed advanced training as a technician in electronics or hold a comparable technical qualification
  • Ideally, you bring several years of experience in a comparable role within the field of mechanical engineering
  • You are proficient in working with PCs and common application software, such as Office and ERP systems
  • You have good English skills, both written and spoken, and communicate fluently in German, particularly in direct exchanges with customers in Germany
  • Defined by strong teamwork, openness, and cultural sensitivity
  • Your readiness to travel and adaptability allow for global customer deployments, while ensuring autonomous and responsible work
