Hydrogen compression for research and development
Application | H2 compression
Country | Germany
Challenge
For research applications involving hydrogen, reliable compression and safe integration into existing systems are crucial. At the same time, stable pressure conditions and a high level of process reliability must be ensured.
Solution
Reciprocating compressors enable the precise and safe compression of hydrogen, even under varying operating conditions.
The systems used are designed for handling hydrogen and ensure stable operation whilst offering high flexibility in the research environment.
Implementation in Germany
A compact containerised system featuring a TVD 900 series piston compressor was implemented for a hydrogen project. The compressor compresses hydrogen from 1.015 bar to 30.5 bar.
The system also includes a cooler, control cabinet, dryer and storage tank, and was seamlessly integrated into the existing infrastructure. The plant is designed for reliable and flexible operation.
Results
- Safe and reliable hydrogen compression
- Compact system solution in a container
- Easy integration into existing plants
- High flexibility for research applications
