CO2 recovery at extreme altitudes

Solution | Reciprocating compressor
Application | CO2 recovery
Country | Tibet

The Tibet Lhasa Brewery Incorporation is located directly behind the famous Potala Palace in the Tibetan Himalayas. At an altitude of 3,650 metres, it is the highest brewery in the world and faces special challenges. The extraordinary location requires special technologies to ensure efficient production despite the thin air and extreme conditions.

For its CO2 recovery process, the brewery uses Mehrer compressors from the TZW 70 series, which are capable of processing 380 kg of CO2 per hour at this level with a capacity loss of just 24 %.
